Cancer
The National Cancer Institute's SEER program (Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results) estimates that in 2007 alone, almost 1.5 million men and women will be diagnosed with some form of cancer. Cancer is a disease which is characterized by the rapid growth and spread of irregular or abnormal cells. These cells invade and outgrow normal, healthy cells and tissue, using the body's own blood and lymph systems to spread throughout the body. The main types of cancer are:
Cancer patients who attend our clinic often stay for some period of time to complete their prescribed therapies. Cancer patients' length of stay is determined by the results of weekly lab work and immunology response. They typically spend five or six hours a day at the clinic, Monday through Friday, with a reduced day on Saturday.
